Not a day has passed this summer that Liberal Premier Dalton McGuinty or one of his ministers hasn't found a reason to announce how much money they are diverting from one group of taxpayers to another: $11.5-billion (over 12 years) for new rapid-transit projects, $650-million for the automotive sector (replacing a $500-million program) to lure investment in green technology, an extra $182-million next year for school boards (on top of an additional $781-million promised in March), $21.5-million (over five years) to tackle high-risk offenders, $30-million to clean up Hamilton Harbour, $2-million for a police surveillance plane to watch for dangerous drivers - on it goes.
