Toronto woman dies in kayaking mishap

A 50-year-old Toronto woman is dead after a kayaking accident in Perth Saturday morning. Police say the woman was kayaking on the Tay River when her craft flipped and became lodged under a tree. The woman's name has not yet been released.

Driver of stolen truck sought in hit-and-run that killed cyclist

Traffic deaths in Toronto this year rose to 35 early yesterday when a cyclist in Scarborough was struck and killed by the driver of a stolen truck who then abandoned it and fled the scene. The hit-and-run occurred on Pharmacy Avenue, north of Lawrence Avenue, and police were trying to identify the victim: a white male in his 40s with curly brown hair and blue eyes, wearing black track pants, a black bike helmet and black Velcro sneakers.
