The game, which involves participants paying $45 each to soak their rivals in a city-wide manhunt, had ballooned into a global phenomenon, attracting about 250 people in a recent London showdown. For the planned three-week Toronto melee, organizers were prepared to deal with up to 500 hitmen and women.

Driver charged after singer injured

Toronto police have laid a charge in a traffic accident last month that left Haydain Neale, the lead singer for the Juno-winning band Jacksoul, in critical condition. Mr. Neale was riding a motor scooter when he was hit by a car and remains in critical condition in a Toronto hospital.
