Sun Media has turned to a veteran of the Toronto newspaper wars to run the newsroom of its flagship paper, The Toronto Sun.Lou Clancy, a former Sun editor who has also served in senior roles at the Toronto Star, has been named editor-in-chief of the tabloid daily.

Boaters find man's body floating in Lake Ontario

The body of an unknown man was found floating off shore in Lake Ontario.The discovery was made Saturday while a couple was sailing on the lake near a marina in Winona, about 20 kilometres east of Hamilton.

Progressive Conservative Leader John Tory says the Liberals are being inconsistent in opposing his proposal to spend $400-million to bring faith-based schools under the public education umbrella.He told a raucous all-candidates meeting yesterday that Education Minister Kathleen Wynne, his opponent in the Toronto riding of Don Valley West, once urged Liberal Leader Dalton McGuinty to take a ''principled stand'' in favour of funding for religious schools.

Peel Regional Police described a 16-year-old Brampton boy who was stabbed to death Friday afternoon while walking to his part-time job as a ''model student.''In a release yesterday, police said Akila Badhanage was killed in a ''random act of violence'' when he was attacked by four or five males.
