Brain surgery patient goes missing in Mississauga

Police in Mississauga are looking for a hospital patient who wandered away from his room after undergoing brain surgery.Cornelius DeHooge, 52, walked away from the Trillium Health Centre yesterday afternoon. The Collingwood, Ont., native recently underwent brain surgery, which doctors say has led to some erratic behaviour, police said. He was last seen near Hurontario Street and Queensway West about 2 p.m.

That's understandable. Errant endorsements have caused him unnecessary trouble in the past. But there was one provincial leader who deserved better, the one to whom the Toronto mayor remains most indebted as he struggles to raise new taxes and coax the re-empowered majority into sharing its wealth: Mike Harris.
