Pot bust in Ancaster finds 600 plants

Two Ancaster residents are facing drug and theft charges after police seized 600 marijuana plants from the basement of a local home.Hamilton police say two adults were arrested and a four-year-old child was taken into custody by the Children's Aid Society. They say the 32-year-old man and 27-year-old woman are facing charges of possession of marijuana, trafficking and theft under $5,000.

Third arrest made in Cambridge slaying

Police arrested a third suspect yesterday in the slaying of college student Andrew Freake of Cambridge. A 21-year-old man from Peel Region was arrested without incident on a Mississauga street.
